Promotional / Subscription Boxes

  • I developed a series of subscription box designs using Roll End Tuck Front (RETF) structures, complete with custom inserts to securely hold and present multiple product types. These projects were for various clients in need of sturdy, brand-aligned packaging that also delivered an unboxing experience.

  • Each box needed to hold multiple products of varying shapes and sizes while keeping a tight footprint for shipping and budget constraints. The inserts had to protect the items in transit, elevate the unboxing experience, and be easy to assemble during production. On top of that, branding had to be thoughtfully integrated into every structural element.

  • I started with quick pencil sketches to explore layout and structural options, identifying the strongest concept before translating it into CAD using ArtiosCAD. I sourced a parametric structure as a foundation, adjusting dimensions to precisely fit the client's product lineup. I built out 3D mockups to test fit and integrity, then cut physical prototypes for hands-on testing. Once the structure was finalized, I either collaborated with the client's in-house designers or created the artwork layout myself — ensuring that the design complemented the form and maintained brand consistency. I also helped route the most efficient production method from printing through finishing.

  • These packaging solutions achieved both form and function — they were cost-effective, durable, and visually aligned with each client’s brand. The most rewarding aspect was seeing how a well-thought-out insert system could make the unboxing feel high-end while still being practical. These projects strengthened my skills in structural design, production strategy, and communicating 3D concepts to clients and teams.
