While interning at Enstrom Candies, I was asked to create two hand-lettered toffee boxes — one for birthdays, and one for anniversaries. The goal was to make them feel like a celebratory gift, something a little more special than the everyday packaging.

I wanted the lettering to strike the right balance — festive and fun, but still classy enough to match the brand’s premium tone. It also had to work well at print scale and fit seamlessly with the existing brand system.

I started by sketching different letterforms, exploring what felt the most joyful but still elegant. After choosing the direction, I digitized the lettering in Illustrator and laid it out on the box templates. The designs kept the focus on the words while incorporating Enstrom’s colors and packaging structure.

Both box designs are still available on Enstrom’s website and used for online orders. It was cool seeing something I lettered being used in such a tangible, functional way — and it reminded me how much personality and charm hand lettering can bring to packaging.
